The Classic uses a 5-pin core with master pinning stacked above the driver pins; Interactive+ adds a sixth interactive pin and a sidebar track, which complicates master keying but resists picking far better. To identify what you have, check the key bow: Classic keys show the Mul-T-Lock logo with a plain profile; Interactive+ keys carry a small plus sign (+) stamped near the blade tip.

Here’s where owners get tripped up. Classic and Interactive+ cylinders share the same outer diameter (30mm for rim cylinders, 31mm for mortise), but the keyways are not interchangeable.
